If you have any kind of web presence at all, which most of us do, you can make money with an email list. Whether it’s a website, a social media following, if you are an influencer with a YouTube channel or an Instagram account you can build an email list and make money from it.

Even with the rise of social media, the number of email users far out trumps the users of even the most popular social media platform. According to Statista, in 2019, the number of global e-mail users amounted to 3.9 billion and is set to grow to 4.48 billion users in 2024.

In order to build your email list you “capture the lead” by giving away a lead magnet. This means anyone who purchases from you or views your site/social media page you offer them something in return for entering their email address on a landing page. Some example of  lead magnets can be:

Swipe files, Checklist, Cheat sheet, Printables, Worksheets, Tips and Tricks, Recipes, Ebooks, Tutorials, Guides, Educational video/audio, Predictions, Free book, Competition entries.

Once you have their email address you can then send them a series of pre-written emails telling them your story, adding value, showing them content and sell them your product or service. As you grow your list you will increase the amount of revenue you generate. If you don’t have your own product you can use affiliate marketing to generate sales. The best thing is that you can set up sequences of emails to send out at predetermined times and then let it run on auto pilot.
